In my work entitled Collection the photographs were printed small to invite the viewer in. This allows a look through a small window into the world of the subject. Displayed is a world where objects are collected and valued because of the significance they are given. The viewer plays the voyeur looking into the world of the collected, deemphasizing the person and bringing the focus on the object. The voyeuristic viewpoint allows us to question, how turn objects into precious possessions; as well as, why those same objects become forgotten memorials to the significance they once held. The memorial object is fighting the juxtaposition of significance and triviality waiting for us to give it purpose.
